OUR CLINIC DIRECTOR
Dr. Mark R. LoDico, a pioneer in the field of pain medicine, believes that no one should have to live with the frustration of chronic pain. Board Certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, he founded Advanced Pain Medicine in 2001, uniquely committing the practice to finding specific, ongoing solutions to specific pain.
Prior to confining all of his time and talents to Advanced Pain Medicine – his solo practice Dr. LoDico earned his medical degree from the S.U.N.Y. Health Sciences Center at Syracuse.
Dr. LoDico was Senior Attending Staff in the Department of Anesthesiology at Allegheny General Hospital and Allegheny General Hospital’s Back Institute. He was also Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology for MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine for Allegheny University of the Health Sciences until 1999.
Dr. LoDico became a founding partner of Pain Medicine Associates and Co-Director of the Institute for Advanced Pain Medicine at Suburban General Hospital in February 1999. He remained a Principal of Pain Medicine Associates until March 2001, when he established Advanced Pain Medicine.
A diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology and American Board of Pain Medicine, he is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Pain Society, and others. Dr. LoDico is on staff at UPMC and Allegheny Health Network.
OUR PHYSICIANS
Kevin Hibbard, M.D. , is a board certified interventional pain specialist and anesthesiologist. Dr. Hibbard joins the practice from The University of Pittsburgh where he completed his residency in Anesthesiology and his fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine.
He previously earned his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in the field of Engineering Science and Mechanics. He then earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School from which he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, the country’s only medical honor society. He completed his Internship in General Surgery at the University of Virginia before moving to Pittsburgh in 2009.
Dr. Hibbard is passionate about improving his patients’ lives through quality care. He also brings a compassionate spirit to the patient experience.
Matthew JP LoDico, M.D., is a board-certified interventional pain specialist and anesthesiologist. Dr. LoDico earned his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and his master’s degree studying molecular genetics from the University of North Carolina. He earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School where he was inducted into the AOA honor medical society.
He completed his anesthesiology residency in Pittsburgh at UPMC and interventional pain management fellowship at the University of Buffalo. He believes that meaningful patient-physician communication is the key to tailoring the tools of his specialty to best meet patient needs.
OUR PHYSICIAN'S ASSISTANTS
Kirsten is a certified Physician Assistant who graduated from Gannon University’s Physician Assistant Program in 2010. She joined the Advanced Pain Medicine team in January 2011. Kirsten devotes herself to helping patients achieve a better quality of life for each other through medication, procedures, physical therapy and mental health.
Jason R. Fantini is a certified Physician Assistant, earning his Bachelor’s degree from Gannon University in 1999 and board certification in 2002. He has over seven years of experience in pain management and a broad foundation in multiple specialties of medicine. Jason joined Advanced Pain Medicine in 2002 with critical responsibilities involving processes designed to coordinate the clinical team’s successful pain management and treatment programs.
Prior to joining Advanced Pain Medicine, Jason’s clinical experience has involved orthopaedics, mental health, Ob/Gyn procedures, pediatrics, internal medicine, general surgery and family practice medicine, working at The Athletic Institute, Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic, St. Francis Medical Center, UPMC Northwest, North Suburban Family Health Center and North Hills Internal Medicine.
Eric is a certified Physician Assistant who earned a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Science from Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA. Upon completion of his studies, Eric was awarded a certificate denoting him as the most outstanding Physician Assistant graduate in his class. Eric is a member of Pi Alpha national physician assistant honor society.
While training Eric has provided care to a broad range of patients. He has inpatient experience in trauma surgery, general surgery, internal medicine, mental health and emergency medicine. In addition, he has spent time treating patients in outpatient setting such as family practice, pediatrics, and women’s health.
Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, Eric earned a Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy where he gained knowledge of patient care at West Penn Hospital.
Michaela is a certified Physician Assistant who began working at Advanced Pain Medicine in 2017. She received her Master’s degree of Physician Assistant Science from Gannon University in 2017.
Michaela has experience caring for patients in many different fields including family medicine, women’s health, internal medicine, general surgery, emergency medicine, pediatrics and orthopedics. Michaela enjoys working with patients to help them reach their goals to live the healthiest life they can.
Meredith is a Certified Physician Assistant who joined Advanced Pain Medicine in 2017. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and obtained her masters degree in Physician Assistant at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She has experience in internal medicine and urgent care. Prior to starting at APM, she worked with the Department of Corrections. Meredith works with her patients to help them achieve their pain management goals.
